New College celebrated its 175th Founders Day on 3 June 2021. The occasion was celebrated with a week of events and activities to mark the special anniversary.

New College Founders’ Day Celebration

The celebrations started on the 3 June, the date that Thomas Chalmers laid the foundation stone in 1846, with the New College Founders’ Day Get Together.

Professor Helen Bond, Rev Professor Susan Hardman Moore and Professor Stewart J Brown kicked things off with talks about the history of New College. Visitors were then able to explore the virtual Rainy Hall, chatting to students, alumni and staff, all of whom had links to New College.
