General Assembly Hall

The General Assembly Hall in New College is owned by the Church of Scotland and is used for special occasions and events. The hall has featured a wide variety of events, from opening lectures, to live events and much more. Watch Professor David Fergusson’s 2020 Opening Lecture by clicking on the above video.

The hall was used during the 1910 Edinburgh World Missionary Conference. It was also home to the debating chamber of the Scottish Parliament from its establishment in 1999, until the new Scottish Parliament Building at Holyrood was completed in 2004.
