Death of Principal Rainy

Robert Rainy was Principal of New College 1874-1906 and also first Moderator of the General Assembly of the United Free Church in 1900.

Prior to his death, Robert Rainy took a trip to Australia where he then died in Melbourne on 22 December 1906. After his death, his body was returned to Scotland and buried in Dean Cemetery in Edinburgh.
