In 2021 a vote was held to decide the New College Motto. Over 400 staff and students cast their vote to decide the motto for the with one entry being a clear favourite. The winning entry was decided to be “Quaerite et Invenietis” (Seek and You Shall Find).
The runners up in the voting were “Sapere Aude” (Dare to Know), “Community Wisdom, Integrity”, and “Knowledge and Community”.
We were thankful to everyone at New College who took part and voted and extend a very special thank you to the two students who suggested the winning motto, Meg Bowles and Kaete Followwill.
This motto now features prominently on the New College Coat of Arms and the New College Tapestry.
