The move of Professor Andrew F. Walls and Centre for the Study of Christianity in the Non-Western World to Edinburgh, brought a new approach to studying Christians around the world. While the inter-connections of churches were important, each community was to be studied with an emphasis on its own context and intrinsic value.
The Centre now exists to advance high-quality scholarship in Christianity as a polycentric faith whose adherents are now far more numerous in the majority world than in Europe or North America.
