2006 saw the beginning of the Funk project which led to the cataloguing and preservation of numerous items from the New College archives.
A businessman, philanthropist and long-term benefactor, Dr Robert Funk has made substantial contributions to the University of Edinburgh through student scholarships and the New College Library, as well as in funding floodlighting, signage and building maintenance projects at New College.
